The 2011-12 Annual Fund
Tuition does not cover the total cost of a Myrtle Grove Christian School education. The Annual Fund is one of the ways we are able to offer a quality education at a reasonable price. We invite MGCS families and friends to make a once-a-year, tax-deductible gift that directly impacts our students' education. We also hold one school-wide fundraiser each spring which provides an opportunity to fellowship as well as to contribute to the Annual Fund through donations of time, talent, and money.
Why give?
Since 1982, MGCS has partnered with families and churches to educate and train hundreds of young men and women to think biblically and to make an eternal impact on their families, churches and communities. It is with great pride and pleasure that we look back on our 30-year history and view the students we have been privileged to educate.
MGCS graduates are accepted to the best colleges and universities including Yale, UNC Chapel Hill, Duke and Wake Forest. They can be found serving on the mission field, succeeding in careers, and excelling academically. Our students tell the MGCS story and money raised through the Annual Fund will help us continue providing students with resources for success long after they leave our classrooms.
What is our goal?
Our goal for the 2011-12 fiscal year is $100,000.
Our participation goal is 80% from MGCS families and staff.
How will the money be used?
We are in the final year of a three-year initiative to improve our educational technology and integrate it into our classrooms. So far, Annual Fund money has been used to

upgrade infrastructure to increase network and internet speed throughout campus,

replace our existing computer lab with a mobile computer lab,

purchase interactive white boards and student response systems which improve student achievement by engaging students in active learning and provide teachers with immediate assessment of student learning.
This year, $75,000 will be used to purchase two additional mobile computer labs and $25,000 will go to provide scholarships for families who could not otherwise afford a Christ-centered education.
How do I make a gift?
You may send a check payable to Myrtle Grove Christian School. Please note “Annual Fund” on the memo line. Gifts of all kinds are welcome, including cash, property and securities. There are also many other forms of planned giving such a bequests, trusts, and annuities that we are happy to accept.
Can my gift be matched?
Yes. Many companies will match your gift, increasing your support of MGCS. Contact your Human Resources department to see if your company has a matching gift program in place.
